Socialsmith is more than just a business, it is a dream come true. We worked hard to get here, and we will work even harder to stay.
I'M REBECCA.
I think that saying “I’m passionate about what I do” is super cliché, yet I say it anyway.
I love my job, this business, and this industry (sometimes I think a little too much). It is this passion for marketing, and more so for the effect marketing has on the businesses I work with that led me to start my own business. After 7 years of traditional agency experience, I broke away from the safety net of a salary and started Socialsmith in June 2022.
I often get asked about starting my own business. What made me decide to ‘take the leap’? How did I prepare for this massive life change? How did I know I was ready? The truth is; I wasn’t ready. Starting Socialsmith wasn’t as much of a choice as a necessity; for my family, for my mental health, and for financial reasons. I knew it was ‘now or never’. I jumped and l learnt (I am still learning) to fly on the way down. Or the way up?
It was the best leap I ever made. Being a business owner in today’s world can be tough, but the rewards are endless. Thank you for joining me on this wild ride!
